Default Drags may 6th

I'm taking the truck to the strip the 6th for the first time. I'm pretty pumped. Its bracket racing between high schools on the west coast, mainly WA but any school is welcome.

I was wondering if I should run my truck with the tonneau cover on or off? I know it would make a SLIGHT difference but I want to get the best I can. It is quite a heavy piece but I know it affects the wind that would normally vortex in the bed.

are you gonna run dr's or slicks? if not your gonna need the weight. times aren't important in brackets, but consistentcy is. go as early as you can so you can get some dial in times... reaction times is key too..not like in test an tunes or grudges..

Well typical spring in washington, the races were cancelled due to rain. however the burnout contest was still on. I didn't do it seeing as i pay for my own things lol and last thing i need is tires.

they're re-scheduled for june 25th. Now however, every wednesday is a street legal day, they said you can solve any grudges on wednesdays lol. So i plan to hit one of them up on a nice day. It really sucks, I was ready to go but the rain was just HORRIBLE!

Thanks for the suggestions Chefred, Maybe by that event i can run dr's or slicks. I'll have to do some research on what to get. any suggestions? I'll need a new set of rims for those im assuming as well...

is this your first time to the track or the trucks first time or both? if so, when you watch the tree go down, leave when you see the last amber comes up...green will be too late. i leave on the 2nd amber (I'm old and my reaction is slow..hehe)...

if your runnin street tires, drop the rear air pressure down to 23-25 lbs, don't stall it up at all, for the first time nail it from the git go and see if you have traction...then you know if you have to ease into it the next time...

I have a rivalry with a kid that drives a nova. He was failed tech, no neutral safety switch or whatever it's called. They let him do the burnout contest, he didn't have a LSD or Posi so it was a one tire fire. Then he blew his transmission, Lol. That was the only cool track story i have.

I'll be sure to do that man. I know the track is a little stickier than the streets but even rolling into it, traction is a bit hard in first gear. I'm running on falken ziex tires. 265's.
