I picked my Big Horn the last week of march and got it for just under 10,000
off of the msrp. It took some back and forth but they finally gave in and i walked out the door with a new truck

Mine stickered at 37.8k and I got it at 29k. That included the military discount.

It depended on the truck too on what they could give as a final price. It seemed that different trucks had different incentives on them. There were two Big Horn SLT's on the lot equipped very close but the MSRP was 2k apart. When he figured all the disounts on the two they ended up the same price. The one that had a 2k lower sticker had less incentives.

Mine had a sticker of 39 and I paid 29. Use of all rebates, including balloon and negotiating.
My trade was a wash.

(reposting from another thread + some additional comments - just bought at the end of March)

It's hard to get straight answers on this. If you are trading in.. there is also a lot of fuzzy math that can go on to make you feel like you're getting a better deal. If the stars happen to align there's a remote remote possibility you could make the dealer's count for a month and they truely would lose money selling to you - but that's unlikely. I also learned that the "internet price" some dealers (ebay ones in particular) are posting is based on some BS rebates that nobody is going to get, unless of course your are in the military, run a farm, and are trading in a mopar lease, all at the same time. $8000-10,000 off is possible depending on package and total price. I don't think anybody is actually getting $11k off these days unless the dealer is really stiffing it to them on their trade in, but hey - I could be wrong.

I just bought my 2011 Sport QC under the March incentives - sticker was $38880 and the best I could do was about $8600 off. That was the absolute best price I could talk the dealer into, period, I even walked out the door to think it over and they wouldn't go any lower. Called back and tried to get them to honor that same price on an identical truck with a different paint job (+225) and they couldn't do that either.

On the other hand I could have gotten a Big Horn CC for $10,000 off, just based on the promotions that month - unfortunately couldn't find any big horns with the options I was looking for.

I will say - I did most of my shopping on the internet, and I was impressed that I could get 60% of the dealers to email me back with a price right away. The internet prices I was getting tended to be legit and approx 750-1200 more than the best deal I finally ended up negotiating.

None of the dealers I talked to were interested in selling me anything that wasn't on their own lot right in front of them. So do your homework up front, Dodge does do a good job of putting ALL their dealer inventory online with window stickers - I spent about 6 hours on the internet trying to find who had the truck that I would order if I were doing it custom. Ended up with a truck with 2 extra options, which was a great negiotating tool because it wasn't "the perfect" truck for me I wasn't quite so sold on it. If you can find a couple of trucks you'd like at different dealers, use that to your advantage and shop one against the other.

It looks like factory incentives may have gone up by a couple hundred bucks for April. I was concerned about Japan and parts shortages and not being able to find exactly what I wanted, so pulled the trigger in March.

Good post and you weren't kidding on this point. My dealer was really pushing me to get a Big Horn CC in Grey they had on the lot. It had everything I wanted except the color and the 3.21 rear. I asked them to look around the area for any others that might fit what I want and the sales manager relented and found the truck I ended up buying with the same options except blue and a 3.55 rear. I paid about $500 more for this truck as he had do a dealer trade and pay a transporter to go get it. I was more than happy to pay a little more to get exactly what I want. I've bought 2 other new trucks from him and they were both grey.
It wouldn't have been an issue but I have to have the bench seat in the front and the console is really popular right now.

Newbie and this is my first post. Hope to learn a lot on this forum.

I just ordered a 2011 Ram 1500 Laramie. Loaded to the teeth with just about everything except the rear DVD. MSRP was $49,838 and we settled on $41,000 even. That includes flatbed truck transport to bring it down from a dealer in Illinois.

Trading my 2003 Avalanche with 145,000 miles for $8500 and getting an interest rate of 3.9% on the balance. Sure, they made a little but not a bad deal overall.

Here's the funny thing...I ended up getting $1500 worth of extra options on the IL truck vs. the best comparison the local dealer had and I am ultimately paying $700 less than what they offered to sell me a local truck for. More truck for less money. Weird, but I won't complain.

Supposed to pick it up Wednesday night. Won't be able to sleep until then.

On every one of these threads, most people let the dealer tell them what they can pay for any given truck. It needs to be the other way around where you understand what the dealer pays, what their holdback is, and what incentives are available. Now you can tell the dealer what YOU will pay. The cards are now in your hands.

I got over $11K off of my loaded big horn.

Ask to see the invoice price print out. At the bottom of the print out is the additional hold back $$. Beyond that, other incentives also exist for the dealer (such as $1K per truck sold if they meet their goals). That all becomes part of your negotiation package. I dont mind of the dealer makes a few hundred dollars off of me...but I need to make sure that is all they are making.
