Okay, stupid question from a newbie on this forum. I'm waiting for my new 1500 outdoorsman to be delivered, and have read about the predator. I've read that this can possibly void your warranty. And will cause other premature issues. Any truth to this? Im just wondering because I'm weighing my options. Being that this is my first "new" truck I don't want to screw anything up and void any warranty. The main reason I went this route was to get a real truck and have a new warranty that will last.

The answer is maybe. Most likely the engine and drivetrain warranty will be cancelled if you get caught with a programmer. It should not effect the warranty on other parts such as electric windows or locks etc. You can take the programmer tune off your vehicle and return the vehicle to stock and supposedly not leave a footprint and maybe not get caught. Also a lot depends on your relationship with the service department at your dealership. Some are more tolerant of mod's---some are not and they follow the rules to the letter. People will give you advise one way and the other but in the end, remember who is going to have to pay the bill, like they say---pay your money and take your chances. Sorry that might not help a lot but I think its pretty close to the way it actually is.

i was wondering the same thing about the warranty issue because i really want to get this tuner but thats whats holding me back....so my question is does it leave a footprint or erase key counts or anything like that if i had to bring it in for warranty work...would they know i have that on my truck?

Some people say that there is NO footprint once you take the program out of the computer. Some people say the dealer can still tell that you had a programmer. I'm not convinced either way so I'm going to wait until someone can PROVE IT one way or the other. I'm not computer smart enough to know. Maybe Randy can tell us-----
