Default Replacement Sport Side Mirror

I have a 2011 white 1500 sport with the body colored side mirrors and puddle lamps. I had it at the dealership to replace the puddle lamp and they informed me the interior of the mirror had water leaked in and had corroded all the connectors and they'd have to replace the entire mirror, to the tune of $400-$500 dollars.

He mentioned I might want to look to find one on my own for less money - any suggestions on where I can start? or because it's paint matched would it be easier just to go with the dealer?

Thanks for the advice!

Could try rockauto.com for the unpainted part. I would imagine paint will be somewhere between 100-200$ at most body shops unless you have a hookup. Rockauto looks like $300~ for the part. Dealer price isn't that bad IMO.

Some punks tossed over large water balloons over a hedge that fudged up my mirror. Led puddle lamp is destroyed and I have 2 large cracks in mirror glass. I ended up taking entire mirror apart to see what I can do to replace and found it super easy to do. Currently I am trying to find the glass and puddle lamp or just entire mirror also. So my suggestion to you would be to just find the mirror, sport or not, and swap out parts. The painted cover is just that, a cover. And the puddle lamps are held in with snaps. 4 screws on the inside of mirror hold it all together.
