I had the same problem. I took it to the dealership and it turned out that the metal retainer clips that hold the plastic bevels are attached to plastic ends. When they snap them on they tend to snap sometimes causing the bevel to move around.

If you have the warranty they will locate it. Mine took a couple of hours and they went through at least 4 test rides.

The solution in mine was that they replaced the entire center council bevel and insulated the new one to prevent the plastic from rubbing and squeaking. Good as new.

Glad to see this is common. Had my new Ram about a week and theres a pretty loud rattle coming from directly behind the guages on the drivers side. Kind of a loud, tinny tapping sound anytime I hit a bump. Anyone else experienced this one?

I have the same problem with mine just apply light pressure to the center of the dash and it quits as long as you keep your hand there. Also tried beating the hell out of it in anger to no avail....

Default Rattle

I have a 2011 RAM SLT with 1700 miles on it and have a bad rattle in that same area, (forward dash), but mine seems to be more on the driver side. I'm going up in the mountains this weekend and my buddy and I are going to try and locate it. I have a leveling kit on the front hope that isn't it....to me it sounds more like a dash problem. Wil let you know what I find. -Marck

has anyone found a solution to this problem yet? i was on my way to work this morning and heard the "mysterious rattle" for the first time. i've had the truck for 3 days now, just over 200 miles on it and it's really annoying already. the sound on mine comes from directly behind the instrument cluster it sounds like, whenever i hit a bump or whenever i'm cruising on a smooth road and turn the steering wheel from side to side. i'll probably just take it in to the dealership to have them fix it but i really don't want to because i hate the dealer that i bought it from and the other dodge dealer's service dept is really crappy. so, if anyone has found the source of the rattle and it's an easy fix, help would be appreciated.

Just got my Truck back from the dealer. Turns out it was a clip in the dash that became "un-clipped". They checked everything for a day and finally found it. Hats off to my dealer, (Larry H. Miller), for getting it figured out.

Yep, Larry H is awesome. I used to live in the W.Jordan are and bought a few vehicles from them and had them fix a majorly wrecked truck, they are great when it comes to that... glad you got it fixed and glad mine had never had this issue...lol

I have a rattle above 40 mph behind the glove box or in the passenger door. Dounds like the antenna cord is slapping the iner fender well, tickety tick tick. Only above 40 though, bumps dont cause it. Seems wind/speed related. Gonna have the daughter drive while I take the her stethoscope and have listen to pinpoint it.

I also get a howl, like a bad low pitched deer whistle, coming from the driver side windshield/mirror area when driving in a crosswind.
