Hey, bro. Not to thread hijack, but I don't have enough posts to PM you (I tried). Do you still need the 4x4 emblem? If so, PM me.

i Have a 2010 and have the exact same issue. it seems that it has happend to a number of trucks mostly with tunes . my truck is stock no tune just exhaust. i took it to the dealer and they couldnt find it it is at 40 mph and it is the trans getting confused. let me know if the dealer gives you a differnt answer thanks.

Most recently my truck has been downshifting one gear less than it used to. If I was going 45 and floored it it used to jump down to 1st and would be at high rpm and take off like a rocket, now it will only go down to second(although its firm and seems like everything is ok), but I wonder why it has changed? ...it could be me as I don't run the heck out of my vehicle so I don't jump on it alot, but I swear it used to jump down to first and take off, now its not quite the same... superchips just emailed me and said they have new update software and I should reupdate my tuner with the new stuff, and see if it helps with any of my issues(not necessarily this issue) I really don't think this has to do with the superchips.

the trans learns driving technique and sets shift points and downshifts according to your style. That is probably why it seems to downshift different now because of your not so aggresive driving style. This can be reset with a tuner or simply pulling the fuse.

do a search on here for adaptive learning..if memory serves me correctly..disconnect the positive battery cable and ground it to disipate the power stored. I would imagine you could disconnect the battery and turn on the headlights and let it set for a few minutes and this would do the same thing.

My understanding was that these transmissions don't have adaptive learning (my 300 had it, and I remember asking once on here and somebody said that the Rams didn't have it), but I could be wrong....

If no adaptive learning then why would there be a fault code for:
P0949 Auto Shift Manual Adaptive Learning Not Complete

Interesting huh?
