And if your so unhappy with Dodge then go get a Furd and let us know how it works out for you.

MY LIGHTNING!!! I have both a Ford and a RAM...and also a Charger R/T. Put a programmer on your sled and you will see improvements, get it dyno tuned with the programmer and you will see more improvements...then pull up next to me in my LIGHTNING and I'll break your heart again....however it is a blower truck, but none the less it is one of the trucks out there that are destroying. So yeah it worked out great for me!
Now my RAM with the programmer can beat A LOT of trucks and hang with many cars...but it also is what it is...a pretty damn fast stock truck.

well, you may be right, i was always a Chevy truck guy
My 1956 Chevy 1/2 ton could have easily beat my 2009 Ram 1500
but, only the sheet metal was stock
built 350 cu.in. with a Schneider Street & strip Cam , 350 tranny with a shift kit, adjustable vacuum modulator, i forget what torque converter, Ford rear end, not a 9", & a Camaro front clip
Needless to say, the MPG was less than half of what i get with the Ram & in my business i need good MPG. A friend of mine has a 4 cylinder Ranger & gets fantastic mileage, BUT, he is uncomfortable on longer runs

I'll keep my Ram for what it can do & the comfort

When they come out with the 8 speed ZF transmission, i will be shopping for a new Ram, i don't know if it will be 5.7 or 6.4 Cu.In., that remains to be seen

One good way to take care of that shifting problem is putting a programmer on the truck and selecting firmer shifts.

Also, if you have a fairly low (numerically) gear set you might want to go to a higher (numerically) gear set. This is a great torque multiplier.

My truck has minimal mods but the combination of a CAI, exhaust and a programmer made a lot of difference.

I have a 10' Sport RCSB 4x4, 3.55's
Very minor mods' (intake,exhaust,tune)

Lowered 2/3 and when I mount up my 28" DR's for the track I run low very 14's (at 3500' DA)
That's a mid 13 second Truck at sea level and perfect DA

I've beat an R/T Ram, Tundra's and Titans, Furds and Chebbies' have all fallen so far.
Best Kill though was a 6.1L SRT8 Jeep GC that was asleep at the tree LoL!

Here's one of my last runs of the season last fall, just over 14 seconds (Right Lane)

Agree. It is someone who is trying cause trouble and sit back and laugh. If he knew what he was talking about he would respond.

I was still trying to be a Chevy guy, so I drove the new 2011 Z71 with the 5.3L (their rating is only 300hp). The truck was way under powered. My 98 with 209,000 miles was still more responsive and still got 18 mpg hwy. A friend of mine had an earlier version of the new Z71. He sold it because it didn't want pull his 25ft boat out of the water. Now I did not drive a Ford, but the Ram has more power than the Chevy. I used to put my 98 through hell pulling up stumps and pulling cargo and trailer weights of 4,500 pounds plus. I have not pulled much with my Ram yet, only around 2,000 pounds, but give me time, I will. If something is beating the Ram, I know it is not a stock Chevy. (Chevy Ram)
I had a 2009 Silverado Crew Cab Z71 LTZ with the 6.2L 403hp Vortec and it is faster than a stock Ram Hemi. In fact it was unmatched for performance until Ford relesased it's new 6.2 for 2011. I traded mine for my new Ram Cummins. That Chevy was fun because short of the big exhaust pipe nobody knew it had a 6.2 until I stomped the gas and blew their doors off. So the point is a "stock" Chevy will in fact beat a Ram it just needs the 6.2L option.
