Default confused on bumper vs bumper cover

I posted this a while back in the body section but it didnt get much attention so with more traffic here hopfully I can get some info. I have chrome bumpers and as most of you know I have been working toward blacking out my truck and my next step is the front bumper, so a couple questions to help me figure out if I want to buy one and recoupe money on selling the chrome one or just pull mine off and have it painted. When I look at parts Im not sure the difference between the bumper and bumper cover, whats underneith the chrome bumper. Can anyone clear this up and maybe give some advise on the best route to take, thanks

Well there is a basic frame from what I see on mine, there is a different pad and not sure about basic frame on the painted plastic bumper cover. I've seen posts here that show conversions from the chrome to Sport and there are some good costs associated with it I'm sure. Good luck ~

The bumper is actually the metal part that is chrome and the cover is the plastic that snaps onto it if im not mistaken. If I were you I would find someone that does powder coating. Powder coating is thicker than regular paint and will cost less than buying a new bumper guarentee it
