Default SRT wheels on dropped truck, the real story?

Ok I am looking for the facts on the fitment of the 22" SRT10 wheels with 305/40/22 on a 2008 ram 1500 QC with either a Belltech 2/5 (springs) or McG 2/4.5 (spindles) drop kits.

Do they rub? If so on what? Fenders, tie rod ends, control arms...?

I am trying to decide on what setup I am going to go with on my truck. I really like the look of the Gunmetal SRTs on my truck which is the dark grey paint. I was thinking painting the calipers blue and put a blue pinstripe around the lip of the wheels. I think it would look great. But this is a daily driver and I do not want the tires to rub under normal driving conditions.

I really would like to hear the real issues with these wheels/tires on this generation of truck with these kits before I purchase. I really appreciate any feedback you all can give. Thanks in advance!

Was also wondering if anyone has run 285/35/22 on the front with these wheels? Thanks again!

Brandon

I run 305/45R22 tires on my 2010 with rubbing only on the sway bar at full steering lock. About to do a 2/4 Belltech drop though and don't expect any issues at all. Belltech swears that other customers are running the same rim and tire combo with no problems.

Has anyone run them on a 3rd gen? I was looking at mine today and I can see how the tires would rub the upper control arm at stock height. But it looks like if you use spindles to drop it that there should be no problems. Other than the sway bar at full lock.

I played around with some mockups of my truck. What do you think, blue pin stripe or just the gray?

If ya do the calipers in the same color, then the stripe looks good to me.

What is the skinniest tire that has been run successfully on the 22x11 wheels? I was wanting to try and keep the front tires as skinny as possible to minimize the wondering in the steering that you get with wide front tires.

I was thinking a 265/40/22 front & 305/40/22 rear?

By the way Chithead, how is the iPad display working out in your truck? I was following the install at DIYMA

It's good for showing off, but not the best trying to check your emails while going down the road. Think it's coming out and going another route... AGAIN.

I love the staggered look! I was just wondering if those tires would be to narrow to run on 11" wide wheels!

I also see that SRTSir is running 315/45/22 but can not find that size of tire anywhere! It would look sweet with those in the rear and the 265/40/22 in the front. Anyone know where to find the 315's?
