Hey guys. I've loaded about 20 albums to my HDD from CD's. No problems at all. Today I tried to do the same thing with the USB connection on the front of the unit, nada. I use a Mac and ITunes which put them in MP4, but I had not issues with the CD's burned from the same program. What's up to you think?
Head unit is the RBZ,
Thanks, Dave

has to be wma or mp3 files to work when you load them on using cd's it (the rbz ) automaticlly converts them into wma files when you load them no matter where you burned the discs from

Dave, what were you using to connect to the front USB port with? If it was a standard jump drive it has to be formated to FAT32 or the 430N will not recognize it. I have the 430N RHB and it will take wma, mp3 and mp4 formatted songs from the jump drive via the front USB port.

I used a sandisk USB drive, and had the same problem. Used a different sandisk USB drive, and all my songs uploaded no problem.

I uploaded my entire iTunes library from an EMTEC USB stick without any problems. It loaded much faster from the USB stick than a DVD I tried (I have a 430 RBZ). It runs the mp4 files with no problem.

Any chance your USB drive is a U3 drive? These radio don't seen to like U3 much.

I re formatted the drive to FAT32 instead of Mac Journaled and it works. I guess I'll have to put all the albums into playlists now and upload them to the head unit. I copied about 6 albums, and it put them all on as individual songs, not albums

Does anyone know if the Software update for the units have been released from Dodge yet?

Also, how do you get the Traffic Nav to work? Does it need the update?

Robb471
first of all Welcome to this RamforumZ
under vehicle it just reads Ram
it sure would be helpful to answer your questions if you added the year, model, engine & anything else that you care to share, like color

if you would look at the bottom right corner of your radios face, there should be 3 letters, those are also needed to answer your question
some radios use new Garmin technology & the others are still using the old companies system
some Radios are NAV compatible, which means that it won't work until you add the missing parts & software. big $$$ to make it work
i ended up buying a automotive Garmin device with LIFETIME TRAFFIC & MAPS it speaks to me & it has a nice touch screen, better than what is in the Ram trucks
This unit only costs $29 more than just one map update in the Ram
it has Lifetime maps & traffic https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=134&pID=82600
any Garmin handheld that has the LMT after the number, has free maps & traffic for life

this is the RAM/Dodge/Jeep radios website

Sorry, it's a 2011 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman Crew Cab w/Ram Box. It has the 430N system with the Garmin Nav software, RBZ I think it is. The User Guide says it should have the Traffic Nav but I can't find it in the steup.

I have read here that there should be an update soon to address the iPhone not working and some uploading issues. I didn't know if the update is out yet, or if its required for the Traffic Nav to work.

I couldn't get anything to upload via USB either. I had to burn the MP3's to CD and upload that way. It would play the songs off the USB drive, but got an error when I tried to copy them to the HDD

Thanks for any help!
