Default Need Some Help/Advice - Rust

Got to cleaning up my truck today and my brother came to me and showed me this on his mustang

Both of his rear fender wells are already going, and he was about to lose it. Come to find out, I'm sharing his pain.

Pulled off these stupid things like I should have done long ago

And found these little jewels.

Luckily it's only these couple spots and just a tiny bit of surface rust at the bottom of the doors. What can I do to get rid of this stuff? Sand it down and put rust inhibitor on? Or will it be too far gone to save and I'll have to cut it out?

This is really depressing and I am so pissed at myself for never checking for it like I should have.

A decent body shop should be able to repair that without to much trouble. It does not look to bad but until they get the paint off it is hard to say for sure. Sense it is only a couple small spots I cannot imagine that it is very bad. Take it to a reputable body shop and let then have it for a couple days and that should alleviate the problem. Probably a couple hundred from your wallet too. Shaun

I'll have to take it by one so they can get a good look at it. I'm hoping it won't involve cutting out the panels.
