If you look at the manual for the 2011's the manual states that 89 is the recommend octane level for these trucks. But 87 is listed as acceptable.

Thanks for the posts and opinions. My truck is running so well on the mixture of 87 and 89, that I will do it until it changes for the worse. Thanks again all.

I am to believe that is doesnt get taxed the same as regular gas (87,89,93). So there for one is not supposed to use it for daily driving, but only for boats and small motors. I pumped some the other day for my chainsaw and it looked "straw" color yellow/brown like regular gas. I had heard it was dyed another color so if you ever went in for a inspection or something they could tell you have been using it.

I want to use non-ethonal gas, this is 90 octane and no ethonal, so what is the deal on using this gas? It does cost a few cents more than 89 which I use anyway, but without the ethonal the MPG will improve, so it will be worth it. Or at least mix it with 89 for a little bit of a boost.
far from an expert, but i doubt the 90 octane will hurt anything, but the fine for using this "rec" gas may far outway the increased mpg.
