Red face DIY Belltech lowering kit

Is there any body out there that did the Belltech 2-4 lowering kit for regular cab Ram themselves, if so how hard was it. I read the instructions and at one place they say that the front bump stops has to be cut off with a saws-all. Is this true and how hard was that also can a spring compressor be used to get the front and back springs out. The reason I am asking is, I am going blind and then had a fusion on my neck about 8 months ago so working on my own vehicles is not that easy any more. Sought out an after market place to do the lowering and they wanted about $750.00 to $800.00 to do it and 2 days, to me that seemed like alot of money and time. So I was wondering if any body has done the lowering themselves any advice and pictures or videos would be helpful.

Thank's hotdrummer.

overall this is not a difficult or time consuming job.

however, cutting off the bump stop holders (rear, not front) was a PITA

it would be MUCH easier on a lift than on your driveway, but it's certainly do-able

it's nice working on a newer, clean, and non-rusty vehicle...

you need to find a better mechanic !!!
NO WAY this should take over 2 hours for a pro mechanic with a lift, power tools, etc.

IMO, replacing all 4 shocks as well as the springs, and checking the alignment could be done in under 2.5 hrs... so under 200$ MAX

I did all my suspension work in my driveway. A good floor jack, jack stands and some basic and not so basic hand tools. The not so basic is the 13/16" crowfoot for the rear upper shock bolts. You can cut a cheap wrench down to fit too. Do yourself a favor and remove the rear fender liners to make things easier. No need for a spring compressor, unless your doing a 4x4 lowering. Place the floor jack under the control arm and lower slowly, same for the rear. The hardest part is probably cutting the FRONT factory bump stops off.

Thanks to every one for getting back to me. Hemi HFE maybe they sent me the wrong directions but it said the front so I will have to contact Belltech and ask them again thank you for the info. Graygoose what shop did you have do your kit, I would like to call them and find out how much to do mine, I really hate the Tulsa area all the shops can think about here is how much can they steal from you and you don't get good quality for your money. The Q I will look into getting all the toold\s and see what it would cost me to do it my self but if it cost's the same as a shop would charge then I will have a shop do it and thank you for your info.

Took me and a buddy about 4 hours in the driveway with my 4 year old "helping". No air tools. Also installed airlift 1000 bags at the same time, and installed the kit with trac bar relocator and shocks.

Don't ever... ever.. contact that mechanic that quoted you that absurd price everrr again. Two days?? Lol Like most mentioned about half a day in your drive way with decent tools and you'll be good to go. Hope it goes well for you!
