Default SRT Hood!

Hey everyone, well I've been scoping out this sport edition ram with an srt hood. The truck is totalled, not sure if the guy is building it or hasn't taken it to the wrecker. The hood looks intact (I'll have to give it a closer look) but it would look sweet on my truck. I'm wondering if the srt hood scoop is truly functional? It's a 2nd Gen style, can anyone help me out here?

They aren't functional when stock but can be pretty easily by removing the block off plates.

How easy are the block off plates to remove? I wonder if this would create drag? It might be a good set-up for my truck because I'm installing a K&N 14x3 air hat, so a forced air induction set-up.

two screws, 4 clips per each side. Not sure about the drag issue but I don't think so. The air is either going to the intake or gonna exit out the bottom of the engine compartment.

The opening is actually a low pressure area so your not going to see any real gains from it

SRT for a 2nd Gen? I assume this not OEM. Anyway - imo the scoop extracts heat than taking in air.

To be a little more specific, it kind of looks like a hood scoop you would see on the 1st gen Viper GTS. Not sure if that makes a difference, it would be too bad if it doesn't take air in.

A good family friend has one on his V10 reg cab dually. It looks really sick! I think his might be the only truck I like with a cab fairing on it. I wish I would've taken a picture a camp a few weeks ago now :/
