Default Cab Air Filter Will Void Warenty

New Truck is suposed to be here next week so I phoned to order filter lid and filter so I can pick it up with the truck as the dealer is about 70 miles from home. I hope this experiance is not an indication of things to come as I still have steam coming out of my ears. The parts person whom I would very much like to run over with my new truck first refused to order them as they are not parts listed for the truck. When I insisted he agreed to order them as long as I prepaid for them and was aware that if I installed them any and all heater or airconditioning issues I may have would not be coverd by warrenty. He also informed me that if I made any modifications to the engine air filter it would viod my power train warenty. I gave him a credit card # got his name and told him that Iwould be asking why I can order a 38K truck without prepaying or even a deposit and why a parts person would threaten to withhold warrenty for an item that will protect the heater core and airconditioning evaporator from airborn contaminants wished him a good day and hung up. I hope he sweats just a little bit.

Follow through with it and ask someone else what his problem is. A H.

Its because they are usually not good at there job, I have the same issues with one of my parts guys at my Dodge dealership. So far I have done the OEM trailer brake controler and the air box mod, he was all upity as usual then I spoke to the service manager each time, all is well as usual. Talk to your service manager he will help. Parts guys sometimes are those that escaped there villiage.

BS...Total BS!!! They can't blanket void any part of your warranty just because you have added a cabin air filter. That's total BS.

Refer to the Magnusson-Moss Act and, nicely or nastily, tell that parts guy where he can go.
