Default AC hot during idle

04 ram 1500. just recently my ac blows warm air when on initial start up. After I get going blows cold air. Is this a compressor problem or a refrigerant problem?

It may just need refrigerant. If you had a leak or a bad compressor, it wouldn't get cold at all. My $0.02.

If it blows warm air instead of cold while stopped, but then blows cold again while moving...I would bet its the condensor fan. My 2003 did the same thing. $75 complete fan unit from ebay fixed it right up.

The condensor fan has an issue of not working. I think that there is a TSB that says to replace the fan and the fuse. Check to see if you fuse is blown. If so replace both.
