Default Electric Tailgate Lock Wiring

Installed the Mopar electric tailgate lock onto my new '11 Ram Sport Crew, and it was realitively easy. Except for the fact that the enclosed instructions aren't applicapable to to the 2011, I have heard alot of people mention that the 2009 and the 2011 have the same wiring and use the same wiring diagrams, this is absolutely false.
I searched the net and found a revised version of the instructions, and the '11 wiring is definately different. The applicable wires are on two seperate main connectors on the '11, while on the 09-10s they are on the same one. So the differences are substantial.

The electric option is great!

I didn't take any photos, actually the instructions are great, as far as the actual install, the wiring portion is awful.

Do 2011 Rams that come with power locks, windows, and seats also lock the tailgate when you push the lock button on the remote? I might have to run outside and see real quick! That would be a good idea, especially for people with bed covers!

Edit:
Nope

Can you post the link you used? This is an upcoming project for me. Also, where did you purchase your parts?

Same for me. This is my next project. Can you please post the link with the proper wiring instructions? How long did it take you to install this Mopar electric tailgate lock?

I used the genuine Mopar kit (82211668AB), I purchased it from my dealer as part of my truck purchase.

Here is a copy of the NEW Rev. 3 instructions, kit came with Rev. 1.
Page 10 is where things get interesting.

I am not sure why they tell you to cut the circuit, because the way I understand it, is you are piggybacking it on the Right Rear Door Lock circuit. So if you cut it, I would think it would no longer function.
What I did was simply remove the insullation from the specified wires about a 1/2 inch worth, spread the strands, then inserted the stripped pigtail lead. Solder them together and wrapped them all up.

Everything works great.

I am coming from a Chevy Avalanche, that had electric tailgate lock as standard equipment, I am not sure why it is on these. Combine the electric lock with my soon to be Bakflip and you have a nice secure bed.

I was at my local Dodge dealer today and was walking by parts. I asked the guy about this mod and the cost to add the lock and labor is around $308. Labor seems a little high to me, but for someone not wanting to tackle the install, it may be worth it.
