I just recieved my mopar backup package that I ordered off ebay for $275, from the US. Which would have cost me $475 from my local Dodge dealer up here in Can.

$65 to flash.

$200 for Lockpick V5. $60 for camera. $15 in wiring. No dealer flash required and I can install a front cam and rear monitors if I wish. The Lockpick works well and is easy to install. I just got the Audiovox CMOS2 camera that RansRam used. Looks exactly like factory. I will wait until it gets a little warmer to install it. I want to install the remote lock for the tailgate at the same time.

In all honesty I probably would have gotten the OEM camera kit if I didn't have to go to the dealer to get it flashed.

Just bought a taotronics 7" monitor that I think I can mount in my visor along with the wired 170 degree infared nightvision camera for $52 shipped. I heard wireless is crap and to go wired so I did. Will let you know how it works but for my needs(towing a boat) it should be fine. If it sucks...only $52 wasted. If I had the right radio I would have done it right with OEM in tailgate but I am not switching out everything for $52.

I purchased the Mopar camera, but also have the Lockpick. I went with the Mopar camera, just in case the lockpick ever quits. Should I connect the camera using the lockpick or go the stock route and pay to have it enabled?

Any idea's?

I have the factory backup cam. It is great and does have a wide field of view as another on here said. Mine recently broke and thats how I found this forum. It helped me alot with a part number. I found a factory camera on ebay for under $80 bucks NEW! The install was really easy because I only needed to replace camera not wiring or handle.
I bought it from ebay here:

Default lines or not?

Did the new camera come with the guide lines on it?

I think it depends on the head unit. The stock camera has wires that run to the power distribution center as well as to the back of the head unit. If the aftermarket unit uses the stock connectors, it will probably work.
