Default Left Foot Rest / Dead Pedal

Did this mod months ago and completely forgot to get the finished results posted. Sorry the finished pics show my messy Ram but in the dead of winter it's a real pain keeping her spotless.

IMO for ultimate comfort having a foot rest is a must. Not finding anything aftermarket that was a simple, or even complicated bolt on I decided to mod something myself. The bracket attaches to the upper part of the e-brake.

Here is the finished prototype....

With the e-brake engaged.

Painted the bracket with a grey hammered finish then wrapped it in carpet. It's not quite what I was wanting to do but it turned out so good that I haven't changed it.

Very nice job with that, pretty ingenious solution right there! You did post pics earlier in this thread so I moved your post here since there are a few extra pics in one of your posts.

Thanks Cajun, wasn't sure if I should add or start new.

I'm going to tweak this mod at some point in the future. I'm still looking for a nice set of billet pedals but just haven't found anything that I really like.

I agree thats a great job and they do need a dead pedal . Something I have a issue with is the gas pedal is uncomfortable to me Im going to see if I can redo it to a different angle>

hey guys if I can help out I will try. I have the deadpedal from a Dodge Challenger that I parted out last year for a friend, if I can dig it up someone here can have it and maybe work with it.

It would clear the e-brake as it is designed to in the challenger. I'll find it and post some pics for you guys.

Look forward to seeing some pics of the pedal, might be exactly what I'm looking for to really make this mod work.

I feel as though I should point out that if you are having pain in your back that radiates down your leg it may be caused by nerve compression. A dead pedal may help to relieve it temporarily but you should consult your doctor for treatment options. Just my $.02

However, it was a very nice job. Especially for DIY.

Jeep owners use a dead pedal to brace for cornering & rock climbing
03 Lexus IS300 uses a stock dead pedal
I'd imagine velcro could cause a problem if the dead pedal ever got loose and wedged itself under the brake pedal.

Then it would really be a "dead" pedal.
