Default bakflip g2 and bug deflector

Well i had the bakflip g2 installed yesterday as well as bug deflector and side window visors.

I must say the bakflip looks nice on the truck.

But there is a problem instead of using the holes where the hooks are to put the drain tubes they drilled into the bed liner. I don't know if this is normal or not.
Anyone else that had the bakflip g2 installed have the holes drilled into there bed liner?

Thanks
Sudsy40

I have a Bakflip G2 on my current vehicle (GMC Canyon). The lid was installed by a vendor out here in Alberta. They used the existing drain holes...no drilling. I would have had a word or two with them had they drilled new holes.
I am having the dealer install the MOPAR brand 3-panel aluminum tonneau cover once my truck arrives. It is cheaper than the Bakflip AND it locks.
I did make a locking device for my Bakflip though, and it works okay.

Not sure why they would do that. I have the BakFlip F1 and the tubes run into the factory holes in the bottom side of the bed. Drilling holes does not seem like a good idea. I hope they treated them after drilling to avoid possible future rust issues.

WOW! I would have been Super if I would have found that the installer had done this. With factory drain holes in multiple locations near the drain hose for the bakflip. Not you have extra holes drilled into the bed, which means you have bare metal exposed. I do believe I would be going back to them and demanding a refund if not a new bed.

I did a search for this and couldn't find anything. Is it on a website or do i have to go to the dealer to see it?

Thanks,
Mark

Right on their website here are the list of things needed to do install

BAKFlip G2 Installation Manual
Required Tools:
One Crescent Wrench or Socket Set
Contents of package(s):
NOTE: Covers for a 5.5 ft. bed or shorter ship in 1 package. Longer Beds ship in 2 package for cover and 1 for rails)

NO WHERE DOES IT SAY YOU NEED A DRILL.. I would want a new bed. if some one that I paid to read the instructions and do the install drilled into my 30k+ truck I would flip out. and have a talk with the owner of the installer company

Who did the installation? I would be pissed beyond description if anyone drilled a hole in my truck!
