I had the Shift update performed a 2 weeks ago and the truck seems crisper and faster when you step on it and ride it hard which is a good thing, but when you drive normal and posted speeds and just cruise my truck feels worse then it did prior to the shift update. They also did not put the sticker on the hood, I asked him should it be on there and he was like nah its no biggie, kinda like the above answer, it doesnt look good for future sale etc..

So the shifting feels sloppy and jittery more now when driving normal, I called this morning and told him they have to look at that and the front end has a vibration and shifty feel, it feels like driving on a dirt road that has the ridges in it and it just makes the front end jitter along the top, its not that bad but there is a slight vibration (7,600 miles now) and they did find a tire out of balance because I mentioned this issue when they did the K36 recall last week, apparently it didnt fix it.

So this torque converter kit is going to do what, and what described issue is it supposed to fix, maybe they can look that route!

I had mine done yesterday, they also did the K36 Recall as well as RRT 11-047. It fixed the down shifting issue on decell, and at least thus far seems to have improved my mileage. A few more days will show what the case is with the MPG.

I did take the TSB with me, and thank fully so. I had to personally explain to the tech why it was we should do this.

I have been watching this thread, and am confused...can someone explain what all these acronyms are.... K36, RRT, TSB...etc...? Is there a way to lookup by VIN what has been done or what is available. I want to know also if my truck has had the recall for the ac vents knobs or whatever it is fixed...thanks sorry to thread jack...

K36- is the recall for the rear diff, you can go on dodge.com and owners tab put your VIN in and see what applies.

RRT- Is Rapid Ready Transmit (pretty sure or close too) this is kinda like a customer satisfaction thing.

TSB- Technical Service Bulletin, something that needs to be done if you have the issue.

The K36 is a recall, you will get a notice in the mail.

The RRT and TSB are the really important info for the forum members to spread and make the knowledge available. Because you will not get any notification that you vehicle is part of that. Both tend to be keys to some of the "fluky" things your vehicle might be doing. The things you might not be sure are problems with solutions or just quirks about your vehicle that you have to learn to live with. And in many cases the techs are not even readily aware of.

Did anyone who had this shifting issue fixed experience small and barely noticeable lurches when just coming to a stop? Trying to figure out if it's just my 36gallon half empty fuel tank or a transmission thing.

I showed my dealer the TSB for the shifting issue, and they ran a search on my vin and said my vehicle wasn't part of the advisory, Even though it's exhibiting the same symptoms (especially the failure to grab a passing gear at certain speeds).

It sure is strange that only the 2011s are involved in the K36 recall,
the 2009 & 2010s have the exact same transmissions as the 2011s.
Whether it is the the HEMI V-8 with the 545RFE Transmission
or the small engines with the transmissions that are standard with those engines

the 2012 models will have a bit heavier duty transmission, they call it a 6 speed, it was used in the 2500 & 3500 model pickups.

It is. I have a good relationship with the service folks at my dealership, and they said for whatever reason, they can't perform the flash update if my VIN isn't part of the TSB. I think I'll call Chrysler next week and see if I can get the issue escalated. This failure to downshift/shudder is downright dangerous at times. Problem is, I can't really duplicate it reliably.
