Default Soooooo, wheels and tires

I was looking at staying somewhat factory on this rig. I want it to last 10 years or so and I'm going to leave the factory suspension pretty much alone. I am likely going to do a rough country 2.5" spacer in the front, .75" spacer in the rear and a 1.25" body lift. They have the kit for $250 and I may do it myself or be lazy and have my local off-road shop charge me a couple hundred to install it.

Besides that, I have these awful steel wheels that I really don't want. Stock 17'' that are just awful and I was thinking about a new wheel and tire set. I can get some Nitto Grapplers in factory size with wheels for around $1100 sent to my door. I am wanting to go up to about a 325/65/17 instead and am curious on a few things. First, what tires would you recommend on a budget either all-terrain, or mud terrain? 2nd, are people having problems with rubbing on a 32x12.50 tire on 17's with this "lift" setup?

I may just wait on the wheels and tires and run factory rubber for a year or so or may sell a gun or something to pay for the wheels/tires. The factory wheels and tires are just so hideous I can't handle looking at them for very long. Thanks in advance for the help, and great forum!

I just did the Ready Lift 2 1/2" front only lift, and added 275 65 20 Wrangler Duratracs to my factory 20's. The tires are GREAT, with very little road noise and they look great on the truck. The levelling kit still left me with a slight rake. Not as level as I thought it would be but still alot nicer than before and it allowed me to stuff the tires under the front end. They ended up being 34.1 " in diameter, and no rubbing issues at all.

Good to know. How do you like that leveling kit? What made you pick it over rough country or any other brand? Man, looking at wheels/tires it looks like for a 305/70/17, I'm gonna be out around $1500 or so when all is said and done any way I cut it.

My local shop recommended the Ready Lift to me. I looked at one in their shop. Good solid kit. Tell me about the prices though, cost me 1800 for the rubber installed, and that wasn't including the level. Here's a link to the photo's.

Tires are never cheap especially 17's to 20's. Pro comp alloy has some nice and cheap wheels. My last two run of tires have been Mikey Thompson Baja ATZ's. Check out 4wheelparts.com pretty good prices.

If you are towing then make sure your new tires have a rated capacity to match your trucks ratings. Sport tires or less expensive tires may not match your truck.

Nope, no towing at all. Just getting me out to the river bar to go shooting and a little getting out into the woods a bit. I'm going to be going for the Daystar 2.5" coil spacer lift in front and .75" in the rear. Still give it a hair of rake, but should definitely get it up a bit higher for a tad more clearance. One day I may do a 6" suspension lift with wheels and tires, but one thing at a time.

Ii just recently installed the rough country 3.75" combo kit i think it looks great, with very little differnce in the ride or change in my mpg. I have not yet upgraded my tires but i am also looking at doing that soon.

Nice, any pics of before and after or next to a stock vehicle at the stealership??? Just curious on looks for ride height. I'm really thinking about just going with the daystar 2.5" total with the .75" rear spacer and not going body lift. All the local guys really recommended me not doing a body lift period on this truck but I'm really torn because I don't want to screw with the factory geometry or ride as I really like it right now.
