Default MOPAR Running Boards prob

Hey guys,

I have a set of MOPAR boards on my truck. They are the ones that you hang on the pinch welds, then bolt in. The boards are starting to actually work their way out and are loose. They squeak awful too. Anyone else having that problem or have a recommendation on how to make them better? I think the design is awful. Thanks......

Dave

I'm not trying to be a wise-ass here, serious question - can you tighten the bolts or are the lugs the bolts run into actually coming loose?

I installed an OEM set on my truck and its mounted by inserting threads into the pre-drilled holes underneath the truck. Then you insert the bolts thru the mounting brackets into the threaded inserts.

IF by chance the inserts were installed incorrectly, the bolts will never tighten because the inserts spin.

Try tightening the bolts and see if they cinch down. There should be 6 bolts per running board brackets on the one side.
