Default Tire size, impact on actual miles on truck

Own a 01 ram.

Tires on it when I got it were not stock, they are a size smaller then the stickers on the door jam said. The were like 60's instead of 75 or what ever stock is.
Running a smaller tire in height will do what to the miles on the truck? Make the miles on it show higher or lower then what it really should be.
All this assuming there was no reprogram of the computer to account for the size (if that is even doable on these trucks?).

A smaller tire has to turn more times to cover the same distance as a larger tire.

Your truck counts the revolutions of the tire/axle to determine speed/distance traveled.

Your odometer will show more miles driven, than actually traveled with smaller tires.

Why would you want to go smaller?
