Default Rambox Roll Call

I just bought a Rambox equipped Ram and in a city of 250k people there was only ONE Rambox equipped truck. I absolutely love it and had to have it, I am coming from a Avalanche. Seems like the hardest damn thing to come by.

Who all has them and if you don't why not! I think Chrysler is probably wondering the same damn thing, based on the ads I am seeing lately.

I've got 'em on my new Ram. That was one of the big selling points for me. Probably because, like you, I had an Avalanche before this truck. I got used to the extra storage and covered bed. I think most people don't get them because it is an expensive upgrade ($1500-1800 I think). I will miss the option of folding down the back seats like my Avalanche did. That made it easy to throw in a full sheet of plywood flat or load of lumber (even in the rain). But I have a trailer for that so I won't miss it much. And I got a more powerful engine on my Ram!

some people are complaining about the Ram Box warping, but it seems to the black trucks
Dodge has a fix for it under warranty

I said I would never go away from my Avalanche, but with a car seat in the back, I lost the fold down pass through. So the Ram with Rambox fully loaded was cheaper than a similarly equipped Avalanche.

It is expensive, it adds about $1200 to the invoice price, at the momment with the current $500 rebate it only adds $700 to the truck, it is WELL worth $700. The more they sell the cheaper it will get.

I got a full cart of groceries in one side.

This summer I am going to look at if/how to electric lock the ramboxes. Not that I every had any one steal anything out of my Avalanche boxes, they were full of tie downs and hitches for the last 6 years.

What really cracked me up is how my dealer kept pointing out the Ramboxes and the storage in the rear floor could all be used as ice chests for beer. I asked him if he really thought it was smart to put that much cold beer in a moving vehicle. I think it suddenly seemed to dawn on him that was probably not a major selling point.

Totally agree. I was able to put the contents in both of my Avalanche boxes into a single Rambox. That leave me one more for some extra goodies.

What part of Arkansas are you in Ramfan?

I did too, had hitches in one and tie downs in the other, now all that in one side now. So now I have an empty one to use for the occasional stuff that either got thrown in the back seat or the bed.

I have them, I love them with a couple of comments...
1. the over all fit of the Ram Boxes on my truck is very poor, big gaps around them & they stick up in places as if warped....Had them adjusted, no help, just the way they came and were originally made and fitted
2. I suggest keeping them un-locked, they would be very easy to break into, and the cost of repairing them and your truck, if broken open, would most likely exceed the cost of replacing whatever your carrying in them
3. would love to see Dodge make these with some serious locks & strength, so we could carry more valuable stuff in them and securely lock them.
