Are you using the wiring from the blue plug under the dash for part of it? An the rest is in the main harness coming in. I can't make heads nor tails of that 22 page forum. Did you go to the dealer to have it starscanned so it shows up in the EVIC etc? or you just have it working. I would not care if it worked in EVIC as long as if performs correctly. Can you message me and I will send you my email and maybe you can help me make heads or tails of this, I have been afraid to buy one but might, I am told by a trailer company that this type is going to be obsolete soon, any ideas about that?

The main pieces of the 22 page thread are Netman66 detailed description of how to mount the controller in the dash and Ken99's attached PDF file. Those were the 2 pieces I used which helped the most.
I do use the wiring from the blue connector for the "A" connection. I went to an RV and camper place and they had a pigtail that plugged right into the 2009 factory connector. All I had to do was put crimp on connectors on the leads and plug them into the controller. I have NOT been to the dealer to try flashing it yet. I am hoping someone on here might know the build code for the brake controller for the 2009 Ram. My understanding is it was never an option for the 2009 and therefore wouldn't have a build code. I have no idea why it would be obsolete soon. I'm also surprised the OEM brake controller doesn't work with just the wires from the blue connector since every aftermarket controller I looked at only uses 4 wires. If I had not been able to get this one working, I was going to use the bezel and attach an aftermarket one by drilling a hole in the sides of the bezel and running the screws thru the bezel and into the screw holes on the side of the aftermarket controller. I'll keep you posted once I go to the dealer but it may be a couple of weeks before I get that chance.
Apparently I need more posts before the site will let me bmail you.

So, you have to have a pigtail from the dealer, that plugs into the blue plug, under the dash? B/c Im in the same boat. Im in the middle of installing a brake controller and I dont see any other plugs, down there.

Sorry if I stole the topic.

the plug I have came from a RV and camper dealership. it is a pigtail for an aftermarket controller made for the 2009 dodge. it plugs into the blue plug on the dodge. i'll get the manufacturer & model # this weekend.

I have one of the blue plugs left over from one of my other pickups. So that part is no sweat.

Dealer must be able to get it fits most of 2009 and below trucks with trailer wiring for several years. Mine was from a 2003 Durango or a 2000 Dakota I forget which one I kept.

I cautioned folks to not use the OBDC connector wires for fear that the diagnostics connector would be left disabled. It may be ok to tap into those wires, but I would connect a scanner to make sure the diagnostics are still working after installing the ITBM.
