Default 18" Magnaflow & KN Drop In Installed

Well never been a big fan of drop in filters, but I do have to say I notice a difference in my trucks throttle response and low end torque with the K&N Drop in filter.

I have also never been a fan of Magnaflow but from reading tons of posts on here about hte 18" Mufflex Kit, I bit the bullet and bought an 18" magnaflow, my local shop did the install of the muffler for $100. The sound of the 18" is absolutely amazing, couldn't be happier.

I've got a 3mon old daughter in the truck alot and there is absolutely no drone on the highway, and when your taking it easy around town you hardly know its there. Once your on the gas its another story lol.

Cory.

Congrats, Cory! I like my Magnaflow a lot too, just for those reasons you stated.

Another happy camper. I love just simple things like starting the truck.

I do agree all I want to do is drive my truck and listen to it now ahah, I have to keep reminding myself of high gas prices and the fact I didn't tell my wife about the exhaust yet... trying to avoid any questions ahah.

Doing the K&N drop in and magnaflow 18 this week also!!! Been thinking about the CAI for a couple of months now, and I'm just not convinced that it would be that much of a difference considering it pulls the cold air from the stock location. The muffler on the other hand will save money on gas (at least thats what I told my wife)
Much of a performance difference noticed with these two mods?
Thanks

Not instantly did I notice anything, but I think its because of the adaptive learning process these trucks go through when you introduce a new driver or new exhaust or so on... but once I got about 50km on the setup I notice alot of low end torque power gain, I noticed the truck also doesn't work as hard to really get going say if your passing.

Most of all I noticed that because the truck doesn't seem to work as hard it is extremely easy to keep the ECO light or MDS system on even when on the gas lightly going down the highway. So I would assume this would be a direct effect on fuel savings?

Goodluck with your install this weekend, you will absolutely love it!

Surprisingly my wife is looking forward to the improved sound. I did a muffler on my F++d and she loves the sound. It was a knockoff though, I expect the Magnaflow to sound a whole lot better.
