Default Biggest cam possible?

What's the biggest cam i can put in my truck, the engine will basically be stock. Just planning headers, throttle body, and intake, and valve springs and rockers. But whats the biggest cam i can put in my truck, I really want that choppy idle, think it sounds so awesome!

Need some opinions, thanks guys.

Just to clarify, when you say you are doing rockers, do you mean you are switching ratios to a 1.7:1 or just getting roller rockers and keeping the stock ratio? A 1.7 ratio would change your cam options because of the increased valve lift.

you engine can handle a max of 510 lift.. with roller rockers. you would def have to change the springs and if it was me i would change springs lifters and pushrods. id get a 480 lift cam with either 1.6 or 1.7 rr's.. i have the 1.7s right now they give upwards to .30 more lift so keep that in mind. and the 1.7s is alot easier mod to do. all you have to do is remove the valve covers to get to them. summit sells them for 350 and you can check out hughesengines. and there are a few others

Would a 480 lift cam give me a pretty good idle sound? So i should get the cam, new valve springs, and 1.7 roller rockers?

theres a guy on youtube that put in a 480 cam with 1.7s you will need new springs. so yes that would be the best situation. here is his link keep in mind his truck is a 5.2 318

his sounds amazing.. love to have my truck sound like that.
