Default I think my truck is possessed!

I know this gonna sound crazy but hear it goes. When I take my key out of my truck it chimes like the key is still in the ignition. The radio used to stay on too. Now the radio turns off but the door still chimes. It's like the truck thinks that the key is still in the ignition. Hear is the crazy part, this only happens when it's hot outside or when I run to the store and the truck isn't running for a long time. I don't have this problem in the winter months at all. Please help, It's driviing me crazy! It's killed my battery twice already.

No, I make sure and turn off my head lights and fog lights. I thought it was the switch. A guy told me that the teeth inside the ignition may be sticking and suggested that I spray a little of WD40 directly in the igntion but it didn't work. I'm getting really frustrated. I took it to the dealer when I still had warranty but of course it didn't do it when they looked at it.

instead of WD-40 a Water Displacer in the lock

go to the Home Improvement Center. Lowes, Home Depot, Dixieline, etc
get Powdered Graphite for locks
just pump a little onto the key itself, not into the switch, then insert the key into the lock
be careful not to put on to much, if it falls off it is hard to clean up off cloth

This happens to me occasionally due to the cargo light switch being on (and I'm not sure how it get's turned on). Could it be the cargo light switch sticking or being left on?

Thanks for the response, I'm gonna check both. I'm not sure if the the cargo light stays on or not but it's sure worth checking. I'm gonna the get graphite powder this weekend. Man, I sure hope it works. Talk about annoying! If you can't Dodge it FREAKING RAM it!!!

Don't do the graphite after doing the wd-40. Gums up the works. I've had multiple times of taking locks, etc. apart, cleaning & graphiting when people use wd-40 where they shouldn't.

Default Possessed truck too

I have a similar problem. Sometimes when I shut off my engine, the truck acts like the accessory switch is on. The radio comes back on, and I can't lock the doors. Turning the key back on and off sometimes fixes the problem, sometimes not. I've tried sliding the key in and out to see if that makes a difference without luck.

Any suggestions?

I have had an issue similar to this as well and it was the cargo light just as mentioned above. It is really easy to bump the switch.
