Default wanna lift my 97

i currently have a 97 1500 single cab shortbed and i want to get some more lift out of it. what im thinking i want to do is this...

i want to move the rear hangers and the front spring buckets down 2-3" and reweld them on.

i already have a 3" Body Lift on the truck as well as 2" coil spring spacers and 3" blocks in the rear and have air shocks in the rear aswell.

now my question is what all do you say that i will need to change to compensate for the dropped hangers and spring buckets? i want to compare your lists with the list i already have.

1) ive been told that the stock 4link can only take 3" of lift to still enable full flex i dont like the design of the bars stock so i want to replace them anyway with tubing and new ends and possibly a better design.

2) im sure i will need sway bar blocks to lower them from the frame along with possible longer sway bar endlinks sence the P.O. didnt use them when they installed the 2"spacers.

3) a drop pit and idler arm or a bracket to drop the stock idler arm down a couple inches.

4) will need longer brake lines to account for the axle being away from the frame

5) im unsure of this one... will i need to do anything as far as drive shafts go... will the stock ones be fine or will they need to be longer aswell

thanks for any help

Im willing to bet that you will need to alter your driveshafts or you with get vibrations or possibly binding. Youll need longer shocks also. I really doubt your going to save yourself much money if at all. If you need new control arms you going to want to go with a long arm set up and I would use .250 wall DOM tubing and dont forget to factor in your castor angle

You may have to drop the intermediate drive shaft carrier bearing with a spacer at the mounting bracket to correct your pinion angle.
