Default Idle Speed Motor (AIS) problems code 25

Hello. Any one offer some advice on fault code 25 problems? Recently had to replace the SBEC / engine computer. After replacement, got a new fault code I never had before = 25. Sure enough, the idle speed motor (AIS) motor attached to the throttle body stopped working. Low idle, engine wants to die out at idle especially under load.

Coincidence that the motor failed after ECM changed? I replaced the idle speed motor for $75, but problem is not fixed, code 25 remains. I'm thinking maybe the engine computer is faulty here .. can't tell. No diagnostics in the CHilton manual for this one. Can't find any wiring problems. Suggestions for diagnosis? Or just replace the AIS motor again or replace the ECM?

Thanks for reading, Jim.

Hi, I hope you've gotten some help from the other post of this issue. I'd also like to extend a warm welcome to you here, how about using the link in my SIG to jump over to the Newbie Checkin and posting a few photos of the truck?

All I can think is to try to wiggle test. Wiggle the wires to the AIS and see what happens. Also try the rap test, rap the AIS and see what happens.

Hey I'll pencil those tests into the Chilton's manual, just before the 'buy all the parts and return them if you're wrong' test.
