I must say that does seem odd and I too haven't heard or seen anything like that. Especially since it only happened after washing the truck ha

Great! Glad you found the problem...but that sure is bad news about Mopar parts! The warranty has usually been only 12 months...maybe they really mean it now...considering we live in the age of cheap imports!
What Is Warranted
MOPAR parts sold over the counter or wholesaled are warranted against defects in workmanship or materials for 12 months/unlimited miles for parts (exchange) only. Parts installed on a Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge or Jeep® vehicle by an authorized Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep dealer are warranted for 12 months/12,000 miles for both parts and labor, or for 12 months/unlimited miles for parts (exchange) only, whichever is more favorable to the customer.

I haven't look at the receipt yet, I have to dig it up but I am sure I just past the 12 month warranty. I believe I got it last May...I can't win at times. Me 0 Mopar 1.
Keep it Mopar, buy Mopar Parts.

I am completely disgusted every time I think about having to take a distributor cap off of one of these trucks -Screamintrashcan
