Default intake manifold and heads

i have access to buy an intake manifold with stock tb and heads off a 1999 for cheep i just need to know if they will fit on my truck...has the manifold changed from 1999 to 2001?

i was thinking of modding the intake manifold and maybe doing something with the heads im not sure what yet but i can pick them all up for around $100 am i wasting my time?

I know what you could do to them heads, open up the intake and exhaust ports and gasket match them...port the intake and exhaust runners on the heads. slight port around the valve bowls and finish them up with a valve job! cut those runners off the intake or at least shorten them up. port out the intake manifold ports too! http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=80084m.
if you dont want them Ill take them!!!

the only thing is one of the valves is broke i this for the price it might be worth doing it since my truck is a daily driver if i can pick up parts cheep, mod them while my truck is taking me to and from work. i think i will take a lot of time off the down time for my truck plus i can take as much time as i need to mod them and do it right with out any rush. im just a little weary on buying the heads not sure what im looking for as far as damage, but for the price i think i might just take the risk hell $100 for the intake, TB, and heads the fuel injectors and rails appear to be on them still.

did you notice alot of hp gains and throttle response when you did your intake mod, head port?

for sure if i decide i dont want them i will let you know

Yes I did feel my 6,8000 lbs truck take of faster from a dead stop and on the hwy at wot there is a noticeable hp gain. But what i like most is the sucking noise from the intake and the different exhaust tone.

Now the real HORSEPOWER GAINS will be from the tuner flashing your pcm so that it could read and adjust to the porting.

yes i definatly need a turner i put a CAI on and modified the TB now my truck seems to smell like its running rich. do you think a superchips flashpac will be good enough for the intake mod, head port and maybe some 1.7 RR?

i did talk to the guy selling the parts he is going to take $70 for all i am going to pick them up in the morning i will post some pics tomorrow

ksl.com got it Bud I wouldn't ask you to drive for pics not if it is an inconvenience for you. Well ill just go ahead and tell you now what I'm hoping i do with them incase it does go my way. FULL porting of all intake ports and runners, all exhaust ports and runners, install Big mouth 2.02 r/t style intake valves and 1.65 exhaust valves. Port out the valve bowls and install 1.6 roller rockers. I was also thinking if everything goes to plan I will sell you my ported heads I have currently installed for ummmm 70.00 sounds good bud
