Default Back up camera

I currently have a 430 RBZ radio in my truck and I am looking to add a back up camera, just trying to find out if the head unit supports the camera. The camera I have found has a MOPAR part number of 82211184. Can anybody verify if this will work for me?

Also, I am waiting on an RHR head unit (back ordered forever), if I do get it I am ASSUMING that the camera will work with that as well....any hep is appreciated.

I have the RBZ in my truck and it does have the back up camera from the factory. I am not sure of the part # info.

The RBZ replaced the REN so the back up camera you mentioned will work with it. I has to be activated by the dealer though so you may want to see what they'll charge you for that and compare that to what they'd charge you for a complete install.

Here's the install instructions if you want to put it in yourself.

Thinking of adding one too. Did you do the install yourself? If so how complicated of a job is it? My salesman told me it would be four hours at least of shop time and I can't believe it would take them that long, maybe there's more to it than I think.

The hardest part when I ran my cable for my backup camera was routing it. It follows a meandering path through the tailgate, above the spare tire, along the frame, up the fender, through the firewall and behind the radio. It took me a while to get it all secured in place.

That said, I'm not a professional mechanic who works on these things full time. I took my time and was very cautious about where things went. I would say it took me about 4-5 hours to mount the camera (I used non-factory CMOS2 camera) and run the cable all told. It's not a hard job but it is tedious since the cable needs securing in a few very tight places.

I installed the camera at the same time I installed the power locking rear tailgate handle (if you are going to do both, do them at the same time) and it took me about 4 hours to be honest. Getting the new tailgate handle (it has the camera built in) installed was easy, and as Rough 01 said the longest part is running the wiring up to the engine compartment, its not hard just time consuming. Splicing the wiring in was not bad, I just took my time and read the directions and it worked out okay.

I did it myself for the same reason, they told me it was 3-4 hours of labor at $100 an hour.

I wish I had installed the remote start myself when I had that put in could have saved some money there too!
