Default How do you know you've been modding too long?

How do you know you've been spending more time modding than anything else?

My answers:

When you can pull your rear seat and sound dampener, fix cables on your amps, and reinstall everything in the time it takes a freight train to cross in front of you.

When you walk into the speed shop and the guys all know you by name.

Co-workers no longer ask how you're doing, but what's new on the truck.

Your next paycheque is spent on rent... and your next mod... who needs to eat!

Your local dealership calls you to ask about HID install tips.

Neighbors don't know what house you live in, but sure know what truck you drive.

When the wife says, no modding this new truck, but then gives up upon seeing the box with the intake and DSP on the front door! The co-worker situation applies too

All of those apply to me, plus some. I especially like it when my dealership calls me up and asks me how I have my HID's hooked up, because they have a customer who saw mine and wants HID's in his Ram too. I told them I would come to the dealer and put them in for the customer, for their $128 an hour labor rate.

A few more to add:

-Every time a new part arrives your wife throws a fit and says "You still dont have it the way you want it?!"
-You carry enough tools with you to fix your mods or remove/install whatever mod you happen to come across that day, in a parking lot or on the side of the interstate...
-You can put a Herculiner in WITHOUT touching, walking on or otherwise messing up the final coat.
-You can identify a modded 4th gen ram from any distance within eyesight.

This is so true, I carry a full toolbox at all times. I can also look at a modded ram (2nd-4th gen) and normally tell the guy exactly what he's modded and for the most part who the part manufacturer is

The GF has said that I'm allowed to look at all the women I want, but I have to stop looking at trucks... so when I turn my head when I see a 392 challenger cruising down the road, she still hits me... but it's not a truck!

My answers are:

1. You have removed your headlights so often that you try it blindfolded...and you succeed!

2. Your truck now sounds good inside and outside.

3. You find out that Billet Technology makes Ram billet goodies.

4. You can name that muffler just by hearing it.

5. Domestic tranquility is preserved by shipping parts to your work address.
