Default Water spots on black paint.

Hey all. First time owning a black Dodge Ram 1500, which I love, (wife calls it "the other woman"), anyway my question is we live on a dirt road in Florida and needless to say I wash it quite frequently, how do I get the water spots out, they are so much more visible on black. Any advice is welcomed.....Thanx.

Yeah....... I'd like to know too. I'm ashamed to say but I park my lady outside and keeping her clean is quite the chore.

that's a good question. the water here on base is pure hell, ruined the windows on my Durango when I had it, luckily they haven't turned the sprinklers on just yet. I'm hoping to keep the wifes Charger parked next to them lol, although it's black too, dunno what I was thinking buying two black vehicles lol

i dont have a black ram but ive had black cars and my advice is to wash it with a water and vinager mixture the vinager really removes the water spots and then re wash it and dry it quickly just my 2 cents worked well for me

Default water spots

the only thing ive found that gets the spots out is Mequires fine cut cleaner. it will remove em. then you gotta get wax on there so it doesnt happen again. but remember it is a fine cut cleaner. a little abrasive. so when your done you have to polish the finish up. I had this issue on a 2005 dodge water would dry on the finish causing this.

Try the following to eliminate or minimize those waterspots by a simple rinse with...

a good spray detailer after you get finished washing works great. I use either the McGuire's or Ice by Turtle Wax. I've no longer got a black vehicle, but the dark red is almost as bad.

I've got really hard water where I'm at, and I've been having trouble finding the filter cartridges for the discontinued Mr Clean Magic Car Wash system, so this is pretty much the only option I've got short of taking the truck/ car somewhere that advertises the "spot free rinse"

good luck

Exco

I'd have to agree with everyone. Once you get the spots out, a good wax or finisher should stop them from coming back. Also get a good quality leather shamie and wipe her down before the water has time to dry.
