Well, that explains that. Thanks for the clarification and forgive my newbie ignorance. I will still try to test the FM reception but do expect it to be less than normal. Still hate FM though. I have been a sat guy for almost ten years and cannot imagine life without it. Also have about 16GB of music on my HDD so I am good without FM.

I, like you, don't see an issue because I prefer to use my iPod or the satellite. I've ordered on from an eBay store. Hope it gets here soon.
What this guy said

I also did the shorty antenna mod, picked one up at pep boys for 8 bucks and some change. Looks 10x better. FM reception is down some but not horrible.

That really looks good! I'd like to know the effect on the FM as well.

Well, I forgot to test the FM today cause I was listening to Sat and HDD all day. Old habits are hard to break. Then I realized I have not listened to FM for over eight years (long time sat subscriber) and never in my new Ram, so I don't even have a baseline to analyze reception. I will still try to listen and see but without an equal comparison of the "before" antenna, I cannot really give an equitable review of the "after" antenna. Shame on me for hating those damn FM commercials so much!

Great little mod. I have been looking for something similar here in Southern Ontario, with little luck. Stump3r, I see your in AB, where did you find yours? Thanks.

You see what you made me do Razor? You made me go ahead and order one of these too. Should I just send the invoice over to you for this LOL?

Looks really good guys! Funny thing is, I was just thinking to myself the other day I would love to replace my stock antenna with something smaller. Now, I know where to get one. In fact, I just placed the order. I'm going with the solid black one. I hope it looks as good as yours!

Quick question...whenever you go through a drive through car wash, do you leave the slick speed antenna on or take it off?

Thanks,

Jerry

Congrats on your new mod. Should work just fine in the car wash. Much better than the stock one would.
