I was thinking a piece of rubber mat behind the pedal would do the same thing, I may try and see if I can fix this myself, as |I do understand what they are trying to say it is.

I went to the dealer yesterday for a handle update, not even sure what they fixed, and had them look at the pedal again. A second tech said its normal... Which I just dont buy. For the price we pay for these rigs, we should not ahve any wierd vibs...

I am convinced that the stock airbox and filter is the culprit. I upgraded to a K&N CAI and it went away.

Test this out:

Open the Air Box and go for a test drive. Or take the stock filter out close the box and go for a drive.

Obviously not recommended you go for a LONG drive without a proper filter in place but the only way to prove out my theory. As I said it was annoying the crap out of me and the dealer said it was normal. Once I pulled the factory airbox out it went away!

Let me know if anyone tries it!

Loth

Guess my vibration was different than what you're experiencing! Sorry I couldn't help . Good luck!

Loth.

Yeah I can't seem to find the connection between the intake and the pedals, I don't think this is the issue. It has to be either vibration being transferred from the suspension into the pedals, or another thought I had is that it has to do with the the fly by wire system, I'm not sure what all the components are though, if there is an electric motor on the pedal(I don't believe there is, I believe it's just a sensor) then that could maybe be pulsating somehow.

In the Pedal there should just be a potentiomator. It in no way should pulsate. So the vibration has to be transfering from soemthing. I will be working on a process of elimination and trying a few things. Headed for Vancouver this morning, so it will have to wait till the weekends over.

I placed rubber o rings behind and in front of the mounting bolts holding the pedal bracket and also behind the two bolts holding the plastic control box on the metal bracket. This reduced the vibration .

I have also read about it being a harmonic (tuning fork) kind of vibration coming from the engine at certain rpm's

I don't even notice it anymore

Hello all.
I am also having the vibration through the gas pedal. After reading many forums, I am convinced there are three types of vibrations different folks are getting through the gas pedal. First, some people feel the road vibration through the tires. Second, some people are getting a vibration/shimmy when at low RPM and the truck is in MDS mode and trying to switch from four cylinder to eight cylinder. I get both of those and those don’t bother me at all, I believe they are quite normal. The third vibration is when the engine hits about 2000 RPM’s it causes a vibration through the pedal and steering wheel that feels like an electric shaver. That third vibration is making me absolutely hate my new 2012 Ram 1500 Big Horn when I drive it on the freeway, because it cruises right at 2000 RPM, the range where the vibration occurs. I have had the truck to the dealer a number of times and they say they can’t feel it. Funny, because the Ken Towery mechanics and my friends can all feel it and say it isn’t “normal”. I have also owned a Jeep Truck, a Ford F-150, and Chevrolet Blazer, and numerous other cars and have never had this happen. I have read many Dodge forums and have not yet seen anybody that has a real solution or received a real solution from Dodge/Ram. If you are having the third issue, vibration through the gas pedal at certain RPM’s, give me an e-mail at gcgrimes@insightbb.com. If I can get enough people having the same problem, maybe we can force the dealer/manufacturer to deal with it. Thanks
