Default Dash Cubby

When I took my truck in to have my new bumper added, I noticed that one of the small cubby holes was missing (not until a week later). Finally, after roughly 6 months of complaining to the dealership that removed it and never replaced it, I have received the part in the mail. The part and the part alone. I have no idea how I am supposed to install this. My only thoughts would be 1. Try to go underneath somehow, or 2. remove my dash?

I appreciate any recommendations that you guys decide to give me!

Hi and a warm Carolina welcome to the best RAM ForumZ on the web. I'm not the first and won't be the last to ask ~ How about posting a few photos of your truck? I'm here to point you to the Newbie Checkin to say hi and introduce yourself. As for the part, hopefully someone has had to install it and can help you out.

Definitely wouldn't think you'd have to pull the dash but perhaps remove the bezel around where the cubby goes? Not sure but hopefully someone has some insight!

I had my dash apart a while back to get to that part for install you will have to take the dash apart.

Question: if all they did was a bumper how did the cubby go missing?

I was hoping that I wouldn't have to do that! How do I go about removing my dash to put this baby in? Also, does anyone know where I can get those little rubber inserts for it?

When I had my replacement bumper installed, they said that they got me ready in case I wanted to get the extra lights installed in the bottom. I assumed that they had to get into the wiring there?

Just pry on the corner of the bezel that holds the radio, ac controls, ect, and pull it out. It takes a little bit of forces but it pops right out. I usually pry down where it meets the plastic piece that goes up under the steering wheel. Then just take 2 (or 3?) screws and a screwdriver to it and you're done.

If I'm not mistaken, there are two screws to be removed that are accessed from just above the cupholder assembly before prying out the bezel. I seem to remember they are right behind the flap that covers the mechanism of the cup holder, at each corner.

Yep, found it. Here's a pic- hope it helps!

Hmm, that's weird, mine definitely doesn't have those. But by all means OP, check before prying! Lol

I found out the hard way- fortunately, I was installing a new bezel without the IDIOTIC round knob cutouts- I'd dearly love to smack the living crap outta (I mean, have a discussion with) the guy who designed the factory non-navigation radio in these trucks!

For the record, I did NOT reinstall those screws after I removed them- I've had no issues with rattling or anything.
