No, the eight speed is totally different, the casing looks more like the Nag1. I have no idea where the Nag1 design came from but the resemblence is close to the 8 speed. They're supposed to hit the market late this year but not sure because so far everything Chrysler has projected has come late or been scrapped.

If that's the case them how will it bolt up to the hemi? Or is it a totally different trans but still the same bolt pattern?

If you don't mind keep me updated with your findings on the 66rfe being used with the prior model 1500's. I know I'm the odd ball with the 4.7L but if you get it to work behind a hemi I don't see why I couldn't get it to work with my truck.

Not to mention the tighter ratios all together! I would be willing to pay for the trans if I knew I could get it to work....

Is the new 8 speed the same casing as well?
I would try 4.10's with your engine and that tranny unless you cam it. I would think with the stock Hemi's a 4.30 would be a good street strip gear but they don't make a 4.30 for the 9.25 rearend. You'd have to go up a notch to the 9.75 to get a 4.30. It would definately benifit your E/T and fuel milage like it is now, that's for sure.

The 8 speed is already in the 2012 300 limited and 300s and gave it an extra 1 mpg city and 4 mpg highway over the 300 with the 5 speed. Charger should get it soon too then. It's gonna be a while for the v8 to get it though

I wouldn't bother with any factory offered trans, get a "Built" Ram 45 or ATS for under $3k with an upgraded TC

See I'd rather spend a few thousand on the 66rfe than $1,500 on 4.10 or 4.56 gears, as I would rather have the 66rfe with my 3.55 than my 545rfe with 4.10 or 4.56! I could still change the gears as well.

It's a totally different trans that will have the same bolt pattern. I say will because I don't know how far into production they are or how many different bolt patterns they have to adjust to for each vehicle they plan on using it in.

He has a 4.7L Ram, not a Hemi

With all the mods planned it would have been cheaper to start with a 5.7L
He knows that, he wasn't saying I have a hemi.

I could not have bought my truck with a hemi anywhere near what I paid for it. Also, all my mods I have planned are roughly $1,500-$2,000 at most, that's pretty low budget for everything I want to do. I may not even do it all and stop at intake/exhaust/tuner for somewhere around $750 total.

And with all your mods, it would have been cheaper to start with an express

Different trans with the bolt pattern for dodge vehicles. It's pretty much the same transmission in the hyundai genesis but different gear ratios and bolt pattern

What are the gear ratios of those transmissions?
