Question Muffler setup

Ive decided im getting a Hooker Aerochamber muffler. But compared to my stock exhaust setup, what size muffler inlet/outlet should i get? And yes i know it looks terrible, but it was on there when i bought the truck. I dont even know what kind it is. And it sounded good the way it is until it something inside it started rattling. Incase you cant read the numbers on the picture, thats 2 3/4 in and 3 in.

Looks like typical Flowmaster construction and rust to me.

I'd go with a 3" in and out.

Man, I sure love my Magnaflow. Used to be a big Flowmaster believer but after putting in a straight through Magnaflow, they're so much smoother without a lot of back burble, less bark and less raspy with a nice low rumbly tone. I think on any of the newer motors if you're keeping your cats in place, go with a magnaflow.

If you don't have resonators, I would go with an 18" or 22".

Any high temp enamel will work. BBQ paint is what I use....the Magnaflow mufflers are stainless steel though and won't rust!
