Welcome to the forum 4Play1. Good to see a fellow Razorback on board. Are you in the SE or SW part of the state?

I know that you can add the heated part to the sport cloth seat. $275.00 CDN I was quoted for all the parts needed. $400.00 CDN install so over $600.00 CDN at the dealership. As for the cooled parts I remember finding out it wasn't worth it unless you have the money to invest. Heated steering wheel.. you have to buy a new steering wheel. Aparently it's not hard to do thisd, again, just the costs.

You can buy aftermarket heated seat kits for less than $100 US a seat. Installation only requires removal of the seat and covers. I installed them in a VW convertible in about 3 hours for two seats.

Cooled seats that is another thing all together.

What all has to be done to get the seat covers off? Wouldn't you have to cut them or strech them out or something?

I will look more into the heated steering wheel thing.

Car seats are not like upholstered furniture they are more like custom slip covers. Most I've seen are held on by clips and hog rings and that attach to the frame.

This video is like watching a bad filmstrip from grade school but it is actually a pretty good demo for installing heated seats.

Thanks Razorbass.

I'm pretty much south central (Ouachita County) just above Eldorado. What part are you in?

Fayetteville area for me. But my wife and most of my family are from Dumas - which is a good place to be "from" if you know what I mean.

The heated/cooled seats can be controlled 2 ways. The first is off the manual buttons on the dash. The second way is through the EVIC settings menu. The "comfort start" feature is for the temps that the vehicle is sensing. If you are above 82 (i believe) the ac turns on, below 42, the seat heaters and steering wheel heater comes on. Dissable the comfort start feature, dissable the auto functions. Hope this helps.

Dealer will add heated sits to my SPORT as a part of the deal (I don't know how much he will spend on it though). But I bought heated kit from ebay ( for another vehicle) for like $160 for both seats, and installed it my self, wasn't too hard.

Interesting. I wonder if the temp controls are set to heat if the seats will turn on heated. Hmmmm. Will have to try this. But I love a/c seats - gets over 100 here and they come in handy.
