Well, you need a screen. One of the cool options I have seen is that you can get rear view mirrors with screens in them and when you activate the camera, on goes the screen.

They are pretty small, though, which is why most factory systems use this feature with a double din head unit and a 7" screen.

Almost any camera out there would work. A lot of folks like the kits that mount on the license place area. They look like a standard plate ring and are pretty subtle. This is a good place to mount it if you are worried about what is immediately behind you below your vision line, like little kids on trikes and such. It's also great for backing towards a low wall, fence or other obstruction.

So, if you don't wanna go with a DD head unit, sticking with your stock unit, then I'd look into the rear view mirror / screen or an independent screen mounted elsewhere, such as in your center console.

I wonder if a flip up screen could fit under where the climate controls are, where it reads RAM?
or get a suction mount 4 inch monitor to mount on the floor console IF you have one,
or a bean bag mount for a 4" monitor & set it up in the sunglass tray on top of the dash
If you have a Ram with NO floor console, you can put a monitor down in or near the bottom of the dash, cup holder/ash tray area

the interior looks like this:

so something to dock into that little dodge tray above the radio (think it should pop out or something) would look best I think

the rubber tray just lifts out, 2 screws are under it, they are usually removed when you need to get access to your radio, other screws have to be removed from other places to do that completely
there may be a little cut out to run a wire or 2 through it for a small monitor
