Default Stake Holes

How do I go about using the front stake holes? The covers appears to be sealed on. Do I just use a razor blade? On my Tundra they just popped out.

looks like you're gonna have to do some cutting...prolly easier to pop the side rails off and cut them out, unless you want to etch your paint with the blade.

I haven't cut those out of mine but the trick I use when cutting that kind of plastic is this. Clamp a blade from a safety knife into a vise grips (bigger is better). Heat the blade using torch of some kind until it is cherry red. Then the blade will slice through the plastic like butter. Repeat the heating when needed.

PS. The blade will be worthless for cutting after this.

Hope that helps

look under your bed rails for fasteners, it may be that the bed rails are stuck on with double sided tape
the metal part under the plastic covers is very uneven, several recessed areas

if i were to take my plastic covers off, i would replace them with metal pieces with the holes already in them
you can get many different brands, here are a few

The plastic seems to be pretty thin. I think just a regular razor should be fine, I do like the heat trick though. I tried taking off the bed rail but it is on there pretty good and I dont want to break anything. I need access to the hole because I am installing this:

Thanks for all the responses guys. I also have some Westin Platinum oval step-bars and AVS in-channel vent visors coming as well. Can't wait! I will post pictures when everything is installed.

Look under the bed rail and find the clips to release them.
While you have them off, think about painting them to match the truck. What a clean look! Doesn't look like an add on to cover a mistake!!!
That was part of my deal when I bought my truck.

I know when I cut out my front stake holes, the marks on the plastic did not match where the holes were. So I'd be careful about taking the plastic off and cutting it assuming that the holes match the marks. Maybe mine was one of a kind though.
