Default MY 2008 16 spark plug 4.7L?

I was wondering if any one else has a 4.7L with 16 spark plugs and why is there that many the dealer that services my truck said they've never ran in to this and i was wondering why my truck has 16 because even the techs didn't know crazy huh

all the 2008 have 16. EGR and knock sensors were added in 2005. In model year 2008, Chrysler replaced the 4.7 liter V8 with a new version. Power went from 230 hp to 290 hp (and up to 320 lb-feet of torque) with that move; gas mileage went up, and noise and vibration went down. The new 4.7-liter V-8 features 5.7-Hemi features such as two spark plugs per cylinder, with a high 9.8:1 compression ratio, and better port flow; but it has a new slant/squish combustion system design.

Yep, as stated above all of the 2008+ trucks have 16 plugs. My understanding is that on the 4.7 the 8 on top are regular copper plugs and are recommended for change every 30k miles. The 8 on bottom are platinum from the factory so they aren't recommended for change until 100k miles. The reason for this is that the bottom ones are harder to get to.

Now, as for your dealer. I would quietly find the keys to my truck (if possible, take them by force if you have to) and slip silently out the door. Burn some rubber leaving the parking lot so they know you aren't coming back. Any dealer that didn't know why your truck has 16 plugs wouldn't get anywhere near mine.

thanks a ton guys you all cleared that up for me and i really am thankful now on to bigger things any one know where to getter a 80 mm throttle body for my truck im looking to complete my air system and again thanks

Im fairly certain the RAM PowerTech 4.7's got 310hp/330lb-ft of torque

In Wikipedia and at the very bottom of the allpar page:

Yes, the 2008-present "second generation" 4.7 has those ratings. Sadly, the first gen 4.7 does not.
