I'm a big guy so having someone sit next to me seems useless and annoying. If I really need to carry six I will borrow a Mini-Van. I'm used to having the center counsel and love non-column shifter. Much more sporty and looks great on the Sport.

I guess I have a bench, but its more like buckets with a little jump seat in the middle....I have the flip down storage/arm rest. I really like it not because of the 6th person deal, but because it feels more open having the floor space there. Feels bigger, which is one of the reasons why I love my Ram...I feel big driving down the road (I have short guy complex, lol). And as for comfort, I'm more comfortable in my ride than my buddy's Lexus! To each his own!

I chose the "bench" for the extra seat as well. It is not really a bench as the driver and pasenger seat are the same in either bench or console. I have plenty of storage and hardly give it any thought.

For the comments that people spend a lot of time driving, so they went with buckets over bench. Correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure they are the same seat. The bench just has 2 buckets too and a 20% seat with armrest that folds down in place of the center console.

I opted for the bench, and the only advantage I see in the console is the location of the cup holders, but that is a small advantage in my mind. Being able to have more room up front won out for me, whether for people to sit, or to put stuff on the seat. However, I have the armrest down 90% of the time.

I had buckets and a console in my last truck but I went with the "bench" in this one so the whole family could fit. I thought I would miss the sportiness of the console but I don't and the "bench" is wayyyy more comfortable than the buckets were.

If they are the same seats in either Ram then I guess it's just a case of the Ram having very comfortable seats. The fold down armrest/storage works great for me for both uses and having the bench makes it feel more like the trucks I used to drive (nostalgia I guess).

If they are the same seats though, why can't they put the ventilated seats in a Laramie with a bench?

As mentioned the seats are the same whether you have the console or not. You also have the large armrest and plenty of storage space either way you go. So the real question is aesthetics and seating capacity.

I prefer the open feeling of the bench it feels larger inside and occasionally the extra seat comes in handy. IMHO the console takes up too much room and looks out of place. It's a truck not a sports car.

I am with highland chef! it's a truck not a sports car LOL I too have the 'bench' seat. The midde seat has come in handy from time to time. I have put in loads of seat time,. I only have 20k on it atm...but that is in less than a year, and lot's of that has been in stretches... we did a 14 hr drive in the RAM when we went out to alberta in October. I was VERY comfortable in it. I don't have leather or anything like that. I wasn't sore when we got to Edmonton, at all. My b/f and I are not tiny people either, the center arm rest was nice, loads of storage in it too. I like that I can seat 6 people if I need to. Not many cars can do that.
I like the bench seat and I love how big and roomy the truck feels with the bench.

I thought I wanted a bench seat, the dealer even built/ordered one for me that way. Then, after researching some more I found out that you can only get a heated rear seat and ventilated front seats with bucket seats. So, I ordered another truck with buckets, and I'm so glad I did...I LOVE IT!
