i drive a 2011 2500 crew cab 4x4 6.7 6 speed i hauled a car from columbus ga to london ky car and trailer way in at 6500 pounds ran 80 all the way there and back i got 14 mpg 414 miles one way

im sure itll get better as you break in your NEW truck. there also are many options out there to increase MPG and ponies. CAI, programmer, exhaust..just a couple ideas. but bottom line your towing a heavy trailer lol

It is a heavy trailer and I am fine getting 10 while towing. I just want to get better when empty. I think I am just spoiled from the good mileage on my 2003. I just needto get over it!

Just trading in my '10 Ram 1500 CC for a new holdover 3500 CC Cummins Interested to see how the Cummins stacks up mileage wise. The 1500 has 3.92 and the 3500 has 3.73.
My 1500 does 22 empty, and biggest load I've towed with it was 8000lbs, and it managed 14.5 over a 1300 mile round trip.
Ideally I'd like to get within 10% of the Hemi's #'s, think it's possible stock?
From what I have read I'll be looking for a tuner shortly lol.

Well went for a short trip, towing on snowmobile and the trailer. Hand calculated at 17.5mpg, truck still has less than 1,000 miles on it. Travelling speed I averaged 105km/h with open hwy/town driving on my route.
3.73 gears, at 110km/h egine speed was right about 1800 rpm.
For so few miles on it pretty happy. From when I picked it up the EVIC "distance to empty" has increased from 770km to 830km at fill up on the 700 or km I have driven it (truck had 750 on it when I picked it up).
Hopefully increases as the miles pile up and she loosesn up some...

posting to an old thread - I know...

I just made a road trip over the last two days. My truck is an auto, 4x4, with 315 tires. Pulled a 10' flatbed trailer empty 260 miles down, and fully loaded bed and trailer (maybe 3500 lbs total) 260 miles back. Hand calculated average was 12.6 combined. Actually it might have been a little lower if the $100 I dropped at the pump didn't get it all the way full when the money ran out...

I think the deletes and tuner just moved to the top of my list of future mods. sticking around town I wasnt too bothered by the MPGs, but man, with fuel running $3.70 plus per gallon - the mods are almost money makers right?! (At least that is my story when trying to sell it to my wife! )

i have a 2012 3/4 ton with 373 and i dont get no mpg out of it how much is the dfp delete egr,egr cooler delete and a tuner and a pipe lol how much am i looking to spend and what kind of mpg an i looking to get out of it the truck only has 900 miles on it tho

probably a grand to 1500 depending on the programmer you go with, and if you just do a dpf delete pipe or a full turbo back exhaust. Make sure you're ok with saying bye bye to your powertrain warranty. Even though youre only touching the emissions aspect of it, in order to run, the truck needs a tuner, and even if left on stock levels, 9 out of 10 dealerships wont honor the powertrain warranty should something go wrong with the motor, even if it's completely unrelated. This is why my truck is staying stock until either the warranty is up or it's paid off and I can afford for something to break and me pay for it. You'll probably see 18-20 real world mpg, and the EVIC will probably show you 22-24, cause it lies.
