My headlights were looking pretty bad and I wanted to do something about so after a little searching around I decided on the 3M Headlight Restoration kit. Figured it was worth a shot as my headlights couldn't look much worse if things went sideways on me.
Included in the kit are the velcro pad for the drill, six 500 grit sanding pads, four 800 grit, 1 3000 grit pad, a buffing pad, polish and wax.
Here is the truck before I started sanding.
Almost done sanding with the 500 grit, gotta admit I was a little nervous at this point.
Finished with the 800 grit.
After a few passes with the 3000 grit pad.
Finished with the 3000 grit and moved on the polishing with the pad and compound.
Finished with the driver's side with the exception on the wax. I'm pretty happy with the results considering it only cost about $20 and a couple hours work. I have no doubt this could be done much faster but it took me a while as I had a 3 year old "helper" who insisted on running of with my spray bottle while I was wet sanding with the 3000 grit.
