Default New features ... ?

is this the latest software update?
Or some new tunes completely?

I haven't pulled the trigger just yet on a DSP - how do I know these new features will be available on my unit - no matter where it's purchased from?

thanks for any input.

T.

I'd give the folks at DS a call. I don't know how you could insure that one you bought online has these features unless DS has a new model number for the units with them.

After I did the update on my U7137 it added an MPG Booster Tune. I've only reuploaded the 93 tune.

My DS had that option in it but I just installed the 87 performance tune. I don't know anything about those other tunes but would be interested to know a bit.

I just found this posting from the DSP forums ....

RE: Throttle Booster and Mileage Booster

the mileage booster tunes are only for TRUCKS, not cars.... the trucks can run 87 octane, and the new non-performance mileage tunes are for them...

as mentioned on the homepage:

All new 87 octane tunes, designed for fuel economy, are now available for the following 2006-2011 vehicles:

GM Trucks: Avalanche, Suburban, Tahoe, Silverado, Escalade, Sierra, Yukon and Hummer H2.

Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler Trucks & SUVs:
Ram, Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, Aspen, Commander and Durango.

9r23.CROM has the MPG tunes for all trucks.

and the throttle booster tunes are only for dodge/chrysler vehicles... to help improve their throttle response...

I'll say that mileage booster does something. I do regular trips from VA. to NY and I've seen an increase from 15mpg with the 93tune to 18 on the booster tune. 3mpg may not seem much, but over 200mi. yup! I'll even keep about 12 in city now.

I just uploaded the MPG Booster yesterday. I've been using the 93 tune. I'm going to give it a tank or 2 and I'm going to switch from 93 octane back to 89 octane. It says you can use 87 octane but I prefer 89 and also found it to give me the best mileage out of 87, 89, and 93. I'd be thrilled to get 3 mpg better!

If you buy a new unit it will most likely need to be registered on line first on Diablosports website
then you DL the Update Tool to your PC/LapTop (via supplied disc or online download )
it will automatically check to make sure you have the latest software version...
Then you transfer that to your Tuner via usb connection, then install on your Ram

I like the Throttle Booster!
and the option to disable traction control "ESP" 100%.

I only use the 93 Tune on my Trinity, latest crom dcx_gas v.1r08b
Maxed out all my rev limit/speed limiter settings and shift points.

Results with my weak open rear diff with lousy 3.55:1 gear ratio
and Heavy (90 pounder combo) 20" Wheels with Grippy 305/50R20 Terra Grapplers on clean dry pavement...

25'+ Twin Blackies...no problemo

So does anyone else have more input on the MPG tune benefits? I've seen a couple good responses here but most on the DS forums say no gain.
