Default Meguiars Ultimate Compound

Need some advice! I picked up some Meguiars Ultimate Compound to tackle some minor scratches and swirl marks in Big Red. The swirl marks are all gone however the light scratches remain. After doing some heavy reading and watching a ton of youtube vids it would appear in order to get the scratch marks out I'm going to have to invest in a random orbital buffer. Doing it by hand just doesn't seem to be getting the job done as I've read today's clear coats are a lot tougher than in the past.

Anyone have success getting scratches out by hand or do I need to spend some more cash for more detailing goodies?

To make you life a lot eaiser you should invest in a random orbital Potter Cable 7424xp. Read about it's usage and also about the proper foam pads to use with which type of products. The are on sale every now and then on autogeek.net or you might try amazon. Sometimes they are sold as a "kit" which includes the foam pads. A good rule of thumb is to use the product with the least amount of abrasive first to remove your scratches.
